Actually, I forgot to ask. Were those cars painted silver? According to RX8Club.com myths, there was a curse placed on silver painted RX-8's. These cars are problem prone from accidents to engine issues. In fact, the only car to be accidentally ran over by an M1 Abrams Tank during testing in history was a Silver RX-8 (

As for the accident part, Mazda's Sunlight Silver is harder to see at dawn and dusk than any other color as it blends in more so there is a higher chance of it not being seen as early. I can't really back up the engine failure part but meh
