Toyota will be importing two to three times as many FR-Ses than Subaru will BRZs. This is reflected in the plant production too. Subaru has said they want the BRZ to be more rare, but we'll see what the production number look like in a year or two. Considering how well they are selling, I think we'll see a large jump in BRZ production. But the GT86/FR-S will always outsell the BRZ due to Toyota being a sheer juggernaut in auto sales.
Being a Subaru fan, I'm ok with this since every car that comes from the Gunma plant means more $$ in Subaru's coffers.

I think its a incredibly smart plan they did it this way. I agree the FR-S would have still likely outsold the BRZ if they were produced 1:1. By the looks of it , both companies are seeing great success with this venture.
I too am ok with the BRZ being more rare.
