I wan't overly happy with the R-S2s. They had paper-thin sidewalls and loved to tramline on the road. The R-S3s are looking good because they have RE11 level grip for less cost and less weight (2lbs per tire).
But just a little while ago I stared looking at the Continental ExtremeContact DW tires. I bought a set for my spec.B and liked them as a fun summer DD tire. Turns out that in the size I want, the ECDW is 2lbs lighter than the R-S3. So I could give up a little dry grip for a quieter tire that's cheaper, lighter, and has much better wet grip. At 21lbs, a 225/40-18 ECDW is about the same weight as the stock 215/45-17 Primacy. So I'd be pickup up a lot of grip for almost no gain in weight.
