JDM parts are, relatively speaking, easy to get. It is the shipping that costs the most these days, as seafreight for anything less than a complete container is prohibitively expensive. That leaves air freight. The actual air freight can be good or bad depending on the weight and the size of the package. But good ol' uncle sam has to have their share too, so there is the entire customs and duties to deal with. If you import yourself, you'll have to pay brokerage fees as well.

Generally, EMS is the cheapest, that is what we use. That's because it is part of the US Postal system and they get some sort of blanket coverage on customs, duties, and other fees.
