I'd caution you against the red. The pigment bleeds from it into whatever you dip. It may also get in/on the paint of your car over time. Red is the only color I know of that does this with plasti dip.

I've rattle canned a few things with the black and it was easy just watch some YouTube videos and take your time. Make the last coat a little thick and it self levels and smooths.
