Absolutely correct. The pin has plenty of clearance to move side-to-side.
I just adjusted my clutch and then went for a long drive.

The relatively simple job is well worth the effort. I highly recommend borrowing or buying
"shorty" 12mm and 14mm wrenches to work in the confined space.
I found it easiest to loosen the locknut, pull the retaining pin and pivot pin and then rotate the fork to make my adjustment. Much easier for my big hands than attempting to hold and rotate a slippery master cylinder rod. Additionally, it was easier to make exactly two clockwise turns for the desired adjustment.
For those who are concerned about clutch damage ... please note that this adjustment reduces the distance between the friction and pressure plates when the pedal is depressed. If adjusted too far the clutch won't fully release. You'll feel the car try to creep forward when the clutch is fully depressed and you're in first gear.
You're golden as long as there's no drag when the clutch is depressed and you're in gear. Happy adjusting!
