Photonic. Something for you to consider. In Alabama (like many states) if you trade-in your car and buy a car from the same dealer you only pay sales tax on the difference between the trade-in and the new car.

Example, if your trade-in was $15K and the new car is $25K you only pay sales tax on the remaining $10K. If you sell your car privately or trade it into a third party dealer you lose the tax credit.

It may not make much of a difference to help you, but if I remember correctly sales tax in Alabama is pretty high? So it could help a little if you can do the deal in the state of Alabama.
