Yea, you're getting old. I hear most of what you say. But I never changed oil at 3000 miles. That's the oil companies and service shops goldmine. I always followed the manual on that one. I think the biggest thing is these kids today get a BRAND NEW CAR and have to 'build it'? "I'm going to put a blue pulley here and a cross brace there". "I'm going to spray paint the taillights red" (well, I did put some black tape on my Camaro taillights back in the day to make it look like a Z28). And headlight covers, and a stereo, wait, what? Yea, its still the same.
