That's right, the BEST coilover under $1000....under $900 actually.
Years of damper testing, building, supply, service and support from
a high end damper manufacturer has lead to the creation of the very
best coilover available at the sub $1000 price point.
Hanchey Vehicle Technologies (HVT) has been involved in the design and
distribution of high quality suspension components for years. They have
created and supported some of the best dampers used in applications
from street driven daily drivers to Grand Am race cars. The downside to
some of these dampers is the price which in the past has typically started
at $2500 and gone up from there. For the first time they have turned their
attention to the lower cost market to develop a suspension system for the
"everyman" car.
Using vast production and technological resources they have been able to
produce a set of coilovers designed for street use with the best ride comfort,
handling and longevity in mind. Through proper damper engineering the
damping profile has been designed for these three components on the specific
vehicle application for which they are sold. This means that each damper is
designed specifically for the intended car; there is no one shock for all with
different mounting tabs to make them work. This means the ride is
performance oriented which still be supple. They could be described as being
"3 series" like in feel.

Here's a review from a tester.
These are Hanchey Vehicle Technologies new height only adjustable coilover for 05-07 WRX STi.
These include all 4 dampers, main springs, and tender springs. This new coilover option is replacing
the Swift SpecR/Feal revalved OEM strut setup on my 2005 STi. I used Whiteline Com-C front top
hats and OEM top hats in the rear. Other relevant mods are Whiteline 22mm sways front and rear.
Out of the box, the steel bodies look very nice with solid lower knuckle mounts. The rear upper holes
are slotted to allow for additional camber adjustment when using standard upper mounts. All brake
hose and ABS brackets are accounted for on the bodies. It's nice to see a coilover at this price
include tender springs and isolators to keep the spring in place during suspension droop scenarios.
On to the ride quality. I've got to say, very impressed right from the get go. To keep the evaluation
as fair as possible I've set the ride height and alignment to mimic that of the SpecR/Feal setup.
For real road situations, these things are fantastic. The damping is very well matched to the springs.
No bounce during regular driving, no windshield shattering reaction to square edged bumps. No
skittering across the pavement as the suspension fights to keep the tires planted over expansion
joints and pavement patches through sweeping corners. On the road and highway, the HVT's have
a very comfortable ride for a suspension using linear rate springs. Buck for buck, there is not a
comparably priced coilover I've tested before that can compare. The SpecR/Feal setup was great
for what it was, but I always found myself trying to find a way to get rid of the progressive rate
spring slop inherent in OEM style spring replacements. Although the base level BC's, Apex'i, and
other common coils have adjustable damping I've never found it to be of much use. Every other
cheap single adjustable coilover I've ever setup has had a poor split between compression and
rebound. It seems that if I soften the dampers enough to give a comfortable compression feel, the
rebound adjustment feels overwhelmed as the vehicle bounces down the highway and responds
unpredictably over irregularities in corners. Stiffen the damper back to the point where rebound
seems to be in check and now the car feels dead and unsprung from a compression standpoint.
Some people don't feel comfortable adjusting their dampers themselves as they don't want to
"make things worse". Some people just have no idea what they're doing so they twist knobs until
things feel acceptable. These take the guess work out of the equation and don't leave you
wondering why you can't seem to find a sweet spot with that knob. Bottom Line: Compared to
your average $1k coilover these are leagues better for people whose concerns extend beyond
slamming their car. Race car stuff? No. But for 90% of people who daily drive and weekend warrior
their STI this is an excellent place to start. For those that will inevitably ask, yes, they get low.
