So true, automated manuals are faster, efficient and becoming the norm for many cars.. but it's not always about being quicker or being automatic.
Driver involvement, being one with the mechanicals is more important to some than a millisecond shift time advantage. Less complexity, cost and driver feedback are more important to some..
Shifting gives me something to do when I'm trapped in traffic.. Otherwise I get bored and start waving my middle finger around at everyone driving automatics and talking on the phone
