Who's your dealer? Koons in Westminster?

I'm starting to think that ALL dealers suck. I bought mine from Russell Toyota in Catonsville. Got it home, found a series of paint chips in the shape of a 1" square on the hood two days later when I washed it. It was the first sunny day after I bought it, and was the first time I got to see it in sunlight.

I went back to the dealer, service dept refers me to the body shop, body shop takes a look and says it looks like damage from a bird dropping. (I don't think it is but whatever...) Body shop has to get an OK from General Sales Manager to repair it. I'm fully expecting to hear "sure Mr X, we'll take care of it". I get a call from the my salesman later that day who basically tells me that I had a chance to look the car over before I took it off the lot (not really, it was at dusk and the paint defect was not obvious in that light), and that if they had found the defect before I took delivery they would have fixed it and basically "too bad so sad". I think they knew there was a defect and were hoping that I wouldn't see it.

So I call the body shop back and they tell me it will cost about $450 to re-paint the hood (clear coat) but they will do a touch-up job for free. So they ordered touch-up paint and filled the chips with touch-up. They gave me the touch up paint free of charge. Looks like hell but at least the chips are filled. They didn't even level it off and buff it. I'll do that when the weather gets better.

I also contacted their customer service rep - but everything has to be approved by the general sales manager and there's no higher authority. After doing some looking online about the dealer and this general sales manager, it seems that he's a real prick - at least that's my opinion and the opinion of a few others who posted accounts of their dissatisfaction online. I got the impression that employees are afraid of him too. I'm not happy with the way the deal went down either. Same sales manager tried to up-charge the delivery fee and add a ridiculous dealer prep and would not honor the advertised price. I ended up getting a better deal after ****ering, but it wasn't the deal I expected and I should have just walked. Koons would have been my next choice.

Sounds like they all suck. I fucking hate most car dealers.

Edit: OK, why will the forum allow me to type "fucking" and not allow me to type "d i c k ering". Doesn't make a lot of sense!
