Since the E30 M3 is awesome, and was 2-3X the price of the average car (while the FT86 will be cheaper than the average car), I'm fine with that sort of progress.
That wasn't directed at me, but I think you're being a bit dramatic.
It's just a question of emphasis. Larger, heavier cars can be enjoyable, and it's understandable why many prioritize power and acceleration (more than low weight and feel).
But every car is a compromise, and the FT86 doesn't make much sense for those people.
Overall, I agree with ZDan,
and for my preferences even the FT86 is a tad hefty. If that makes me a narrow-minded extremist in your view, then you should add me to your ignore list as well.
