The newest update is Toyota wants to give me my car back after showing me how to re-initialize the window myself for when the issue occurs. They say Toyota has engineers currently working on the problem and are potentially even considering redesigning the entire interior of the door. They tell me my car will be one of the first to receive any fixes they come up with (although I'm sure they're telling that to all the angry customers).
