Some thoughts and conclusions from this weekend:
- an oil cooler is a must for tracking with FI (we already knew this, but wanted to see just how much it affects the car, short of getting TOO hot or doing any damage to our car).
- The extra low/midrange torque is NICE.
- The power is not sustainable without an oil cooler (this was also obvious, but we wanted a tangible, real world result). The ECU pulls timing, reducing output to protect the engine
-- A S2000 lightly modified S2000 still out-accelerates the Jackson Racing Supercharged BRZ, when the BRZ's oil temp gets hot.
- When the oil is not too hot, the Jackson Racing Supercharged BRZ out-accelerates a S2000
- Stock tires wear rather slowly. They're also really, really fun to drive on.
