At this time, you will not need ANY computer to use the OFT as it will come pre-loaded with maps for all different ROM types. Just plug it in and select what Stage map you want to run. But if you do want to modify the maps or download datalog files to your laptop, you will need to run Windows OS. Personally, I use a MacBook Pro running Windows through Parallels. Or you can run Windows through Bootcamp which comes with your Mac. Easy to do and probably more stable/better performing than running Windows through a PC
