The retail for those are less, what you are seeing is the resell value. Many who got into the sneaker-game tend to purchase more than the pair they will own. The key is buy at least three: one to resell for more than $50 on top of retail, one to wear, and the other is to loose is the closet/basement/storage so you can come back to and dig up for it later five-ten-fifteen years later.

The tern endowment effect plays a big part in purchasing and reselling these so-called "HEAT" sneakers. Just like any item anyone has ever collected and see any value of it, all it will take is another person to place a radical price on it and you will see an influx of the bandwagon.

Do you remember the beenie babies in the mid to late 90's?
