People want benefits when they purchase a car and if they want the GC to handle as sharp as the 370Z then there is the aftermarket for suspension and wheel and tire upgrades. Yeah same here, I considered the 350Z and S2000 and just couldn't go through with it without having the extra seats. I had an MR2 and felt completely anti-social driving that thing around. I sold it only a few months after I got it, just couldn't get used to not having anything back there... other than the motor lol.
I probably wouldn't use the seats in the FR-S/BRZ/GC that often at all, but I would feel better knowing that they're there.
Like this saying goes - "Better to have and not need than to need and not have."
