I don't disbelieve that at all really. Sort of expect it after the Vette reveal. But I think the letdown will be more for the people that aren't target Mustang buyers right now. I and many others who are like-minded will be a bit disappointed if the 2.3T isn't lighter than the current V6, sure. Maybe to some degree the international market as well. But I think your main two Mustang buyers are people who want a Mustang because it's a Mustang and generally are happy with the V6 and done, and people who want some of that big ol' honkin' 'Merican muscle V8 Mustang GT goodness.

I was really thinking about switching over to the Mustang camp with the new 2.3T (or maybe a V8 if I could swing it) instead of a FRS/BRZ. The lust hit pretty hard at first, and to a small degree it still exists. I was looking forward to IRS a lot, but I was also looking forward to the original rumors of the car being over a foot shorter and several hundred lbs lighter. A lot of that initial "WANT!" has worn off after thinking about it with the head instead of the heart. Don't get me wrong, I still want one, but not as badly.
