Of course we both stopped talking to stare because the noise was so distracting. He was doing maybe 75-80mph in the fast lane. About a hundred yards ahead of us, he was suddenly engulfed in a cloud of dark grey smoke. We watched him coast up an offramp, completely full of smoke. It was pretty sad.
Not being a Honda guy, I couldn't say what year range the car was, just that it was all flat black and lowered, with a dark tail lamp and window tint. I felt real bad for the guy, whoever he was, but I had to giggle just a little. I'm a bad man. :-(
Hopefully he was OK. It was SO cold that morning, and so close to Christmas. No one deserves that.
Pretty random story, I know, but it was the first time I'd ever witnessed something like that NOT at a racetrack.

This is usually what happens when the car gods smite the offending civic for blasphemy (pulling on a superior car)
Sucks for the driver, but he was the one who decided to drive a ricer rocket
