Read post #10. In 1996 I bought a new white (non-pearl) Grand Am. After it had been exposes to weather it started showing spots. Not knowing what was going on I went back to the dealership. Their response: "Oh yeah, that's rail rust." I probably wasn't there for an hour and they were finished wiping/washing it down and the rust never returned.
