edit* I read the link in the post above.. sounds like the company specific additives are added into the trucks as they fill at the distribution facily. For example: "one measured squirt every 40 gallons".
The thing is, I've seen the same shipment not only go to us but also Chevron, Shell Etc. There is actually many instances where you'll get other gas station's shipments because they defer for whatever reason.
So you might get certain amounts at different gas stations just by chance

Just by this argument I feel as if every gas is pretty much the same when you come to the gas tank itself. Maybe when people are testing what the company wants you to test yes, there might be slight difference. But at the pump its all the same

Costco and Private Gas Companies can buy from whoever they like, which is generally the cheapest. Which means its generally BP/Arco or the cheapest in your town. However franchisee sites can only buy from their company even though they might buy/fill from other refineries.

TLDR: all gas is the same, each gas station often get filled with other stations gas
