At that price I'd say go with the STs. They're perfectly acceptable, although you would ofcourse get a better ride and better quality with the KWs. The way I look at parts is "am I willing to spend this much on this part? Are the improvements worth the extra $1200 to me?".

Also, if this is for a street setup, KW's lifetime warranty definitely helps. I've blown pretty high-end shocks on the street before, so it's nice to have the company help you out.
