NJ it is illegal. It is very dangerous when cars don't clean the roof. Sure our cars are tiny but think of SUV owners that have an area the size of our whole car as a roof. Once they hit highway speeds chunks fly off, not to mention if it has been there some time there may be ice in it.

It really isn't that hard just use a brush but don't go all the way to the surface. If you are driving your baby in shit weather try not to be so worried about a few swirls. You are introducing worse by driving on slush, salt, ice, snow, broken pavement.
