As to the original question, I don't find this car underpowered. The tires aren't very sticky and the speed limit is not above 65 hwy where I live. Taking a corner at 50 that's marked 25 (not speed limit, just the caution signs) is a total blast! Commuting, I usually shift at about 4K and get 31 mpg. Having fun, I wind it up to 5-6K+ and . Downshifting to pass is part of driving a stick.
That's raises an interesting question. Is there a difference in the minds of law enforcement (ticket worthiness) of surpassing the posted speed on a caution sign versus a speed limit sign?
