The heat shields are attached to the pipe they won't fit the Perrin pipe. I personally haven't had or heard of any issues with the perrin pipe without the heat shield, but I also haven really pushed mine since I installed it. If you're concerned about heat you could wrap the overpipe before installing it.

As for installing save yourself some hassle and just unbolt the right rear engine mount and jack the engine up. I tried removing the heat shield and getting it out that way but it was just a wast of time jacking it up was quick and easy.
