Not because it's a Hyundai, but because I don't think it stands out quite on its own yet.
It seems like a great all around package but with no defining features.
The FRS/BRZ is lighter weight, will have a decent shifter, a "unique" boxer engine and a low cd. Kool-aid or not I like the FRS/BRZ better.
Even though it might not be "better" than the GC, the FRS reminds me more of an S2000 coupe, whereas the GC reminds me of a 350z. Same class, different philosophies.

This is what I have been saying all along and this is why people will try to compare them the most. The GC is pretty much a bigger sized FRS with a different philosophy. I think its like this.
S2000 is more about handling over power but it still has good power.
60% handler and 40% power
350Z is more about power than handling but it still handled well enough
60% Power and 40% handler
I feel the FRS will be like the 2+2 s2000 and the GC from my test drive(3.8 Track) felt like the 2+2 350Z. And it's also funny to me since the S2K and the Z is also my favorite Japanese 2 seaters under 35k. That's probably why I like the GC and FRS so much.
