Didn't know there are people who do those on whimpy street tires with weak sidewalls...otherwise you should be smart enough to know when your knowledge is applicable.

Like I said - on decent tires it won't be true, since they have stiff sidewalls/wide profile etc.

Also, rear tires won't roll as much, so it's less relevant. Pumping front ones from stock psi will give you more corner grip. And again - does not apply to race/semi-race tires.
