Buick doesn't have one sports car, does that mean they NEED one, no. And I feel the same way for Toyota, just let the younger brand take this car as their flagship and, as their flagship I think they could muddle with the price more acceptably. Also this would not be the first time the US market gets a Toyota under a different brand-name.
They are appealing this car to the masses and the masses will go to Scion for a youthful, well priced coupe before Toyota, just look at the lineup recently, its not who they are anymore.
Either way I think this would be the logic of the people at Toyota, even though I would rather say 'I' drive a Toyota than a Scion. In the end I will be in the Subaru though  |
