i think one thing that is being lost in the conversation here is that the people who in the end pay for all of this more often than not don't even know enough to care about what a maf sensor does, or what load is or how it is calculated. they don't care how easy a piece of software makes tuning their car. it's a job their paying someone else to do, and they care about the end result. they're paying for the result.

as far as the technicalities of which system is capable of providing the best tune, i have no idea. i'm sure ecutek has some advantage, or at least for the price it damn well should. as someone who tunes their own car i'd love to try it out if they ever do decide to open it up to the masses.

this talk about ecutek being the 'only way' to do anything or somehow required to run fi is just bs though. there are two cars in the world with my exact setup, one is tuned with ecutek and the other is tuned with brzedit. i've seen logs from the ecutek car, and i assure you that car isn't running nearly as well as my 'home brew' brzedit-tuned car. his iam was 0.06 in the log i saw lol.

anyone who thinks you can't make a car run well with fi on brzedit/romraider/oft is welcome to take a spin in mine and see for yourself. the last turbo/ecutek owner that rode in it, first words out of their mouth were 'wow, that's way smoother than mine'.
