That's right. Also, in many of the fullsize cars of the 60s and 70s there were what we called "crotch cooler/balls blowers" vents. They were located in the lower instrument panel and directed (adjustable) to the middle of the seat. For those posters who "wish they had" some feature they were dreaming about
