This is primarily because the market wasn't right for sport coupes, and everyone was in search of higher MPG. Scion began to show appeal and has potential to bring back sport coupes into Toyota's lineup without altering their affordable luxury lineup. And now that the market is ready for affordable sport coupes, it's only right that they go with Scion. That way the Scion name can begin to attribute some respect around auto enthusiasts and lose it's all show, no go nameplate. Besides, can't blame Scion for shaping into the what the market needed at the time.

Although I do agree with all the scion bashing, and they definetly need a new design director.
I think, I wrote this some where, but Scion's name is in time attack, drag, even drifting world and win some and making new records... while look at Toyota. What happen to them? Have you seen any Toyota name on any auto world? It's been taken by Scion and Lexus that ACTUAL Toyota name have disappeared. I think, it's right to bring the Toyota name back to the top again... Not Lexus, Not Scion, but Toyota.
