And even though most parts for the GTR are way over priced (due to limited sales numbers) I am going to guess that wont affect this and we will be paying around the same?
Does motec have a flex fuel setup? The new magnesium series seems really legit.
Edit: thinking about it I'm sure there isn't that much complication just simply taking an analog input & using a fuel / ignition trim map to do flex correct?

I believe flex fuel will be available if it isn't already. The way Motec models the M1, it is different from your typical standalones. I know most standalones will use a trim table in closed loop to trim IGN and Fuel base on the feedback of the ethanol sensor. It could be that they use the same strategy but I am not 100% certain.
Motec have really put the effort into the M1 tune to make it as easy as possible to dial a tune in once you understand the whole concept.
The GTR unit is retailed at $7500. Even though the 86 unit is virtually the same box, it will not cost that much because the GTR required a ton of work /R&D to communicate with the Transmission Control Module and other things.
From what I have gathered, the price of the M1 license and package for a specific platform, will be determined by how much time and effort their engineers have invested. Not only that but the continue support to refine the product after the purchase as well.
** Darren@motec have been very helpful with getting this going. I know he made an account here and will be chime in with more details and answers.
