As for the track days. The two closest tracks are Circuit Grand Bayou and NOLA Motorsports Park. NMSP runs both open track days and NASA weekends which have their driver's education program that I graduated from to get my NASA race license and that @akuhei has experienced. I would love to see more local guys doing track weekends, and I am willing to do anything I can to help you guys get there including prepping your car or going along for moral support / crew chief. I haven't decided on my race schedule for next year yet, but I know I will be running Barber Motorsports Park with NASA the Feb 15th weekend if anyone wants to try out that awesome track. I can tell you that the DE slots will fill up very quickly once they open up though.

Who is this Brad with twin turbos and 330 whp? I think you might have your facts a little bit wrong.
