I'd say that we expect better of Toyota/Subaru. You wanna look at my bumper after 6k miles? I haven't even officially hit that mark yet and it looks pretty shit. Thin paint, and other various issues (small or large) that shouldn't exist aren't supposed to be acceptable. Consumer reports isn't too far off on their rating.
But then again maybe we all shouldn't have supported the first year model of this car. I said to myself that I'd wait but I made it to March of this year and couldn't hold off any longer... Oh well. I still love her.
