But this isn't the "real world" it's the "televised racing world" and the class requirements require the car to have a factory FI option and
only the TRD SC fulfills that requirement. And yes it's a lot of money, but it's not "stupid", it's just a lot. That's what it takes to race in a televised series... Cubic Dollars.
