I'm just tired of all the mfgs. creating in essence the same car with slight variations in the front end. I think the first mfg. to be bold will crush the market.
That being said Subaru's numbers have been going up and up every year...making the WRX more of a bland car but sold as an upgrade to someone buying a standard Impreza is likely their intention. If it's too wild the upper middle class family isn't going to go for it. But if it's a civic with a hood scoop and toned down looks, then it has a better chance of selling to their target market.
We, the performance enthusiasts, are the target market of ZERO car companies. We don't buy enough to make our wants a reality. We only get lucky if some people at the company want something enough and can make numbers that bean counters are ok with. The fact that they are still making an STI version here in the states is somewhat of a testament to that.
