Springs/coilover recommendations?

I've been reading tons of threads for the past couple hours but haven't gotten any definitive answers on a lot of things, so help me out please!

What I'm looking for:
- Lower the car by 1" on all 4 corners
- Same ride quality as stock, or softer if possible (It is my daily driver)
- Within a $1000 budget, possibly a little more

Options I was looking at:
- Eibach Pro-kit springs + stock shocks/struts
- ST Coilovers

The only issue with the ST coilovers is that I live in a snowy state where roads are salted and I'm not sure how they'll hold up against corrosion. Reviews I read of the Pro-kit springs say they have a slightly harsher ride than stock springs, though I don't know if this is improved by changing shocks/struts.

Some questions:

Are there any other lowering springs that come with new bump stops? Don't really like the idea of cutting the stock ones. (This is why I like the Pro-kit springs).

For a 1" drop, do I need to buy anything in addition to springs / coilovers and getting an alignment?

Thanks for the help and recommendations!
