BTW the Genesis Coupe was Hyundai's first attempt to dip their toes into the "affordable" rwd coupe segment. It was all about making a more attractive priced G37 really.
I severely doubt their main focus was on the driving experience. I'm betting Looks, Horsepower, Equipment and Pricing bracket were all placed ahead of driving experience. Not to fault them though, It's what most companies making a "sports car" do now, Which is what makes the FR-S so special to me at least.

Have you driven a Gen Coupe? You definitely haven't driven the 2013 version. Take one for a spin, maybe they conceal the weight well? Maybe it will be a lot keener than you expect.
I wholly agree with your sentiments regarding what you are looking for in a sporty car, but all the stat sheet comparisons only get you so far.
I had a V6 Mustang for a rental car when I went home for Christmas and took it around the same roads in the Fraser Valley I used to take my '07 Civic Si on and I thought it performed pretty well all things considered, minus the terrible autobox.
