would you "compare" a Mustang to lets say an S2000? (well the S2000 is too expensive so i'll just buy a Mustang)
I'm getting this car because nothing like it has been made in a similar price range (new). If i wanted a GC i would have bought it back when it came out (and i did want to buy it) but after looking up the specs i decided against it, because it simply wasn't as refined as the Toyobaru is in terms of what it set out to do.
are you an MCO member? autocross? time attack?

+1 !
Sure, people will always "cross-shop" and compare to other cars that are obtainable for similar money, but lets' be honest, The only other comparable cars out there for the purest are the S2000 and Miata. For something in Hardtop coupe form, on the NEW car market, there's simply nothing else close to offering what this car will.
BTW the Genesis Coupe was Hyundai's first attempt to dip their toes into the "affordable" rwd coupe segment. It was all about making a more attractive priced G37 really.
I severely doubt their main focus was on the driving experience. I'm betting Looks, Horsepower, Equipment and Pricing bracket were all placed ahead of driving experience. Not to fault them though, It's what most companies making a "sports car" do now, Which is what makes the FR-S so special to me at least.
I make sports car decisions with my heart, leave the Rational decisions for family sedan and Suv's
