Sorry but I won't buy a MT car again. My last was a then new MR2T which I always walk with a limb after a long drive sloughing through LA's parking lot freeways.
I definitely echo the sentiment about paying extra for a DCT type but so far the AT on my BRZ is outstanding. I go through 3 modes on my daily 40 mile commute. It is left in D in mindless freeway, switched to manual shift in the canyons and then progress through paddle shift on the last part when the curves gets tighter.
The ONLY issue I have with the AT is when I forget I'm still in manual shift mode, the road straightened out and I can't hear the engine because my music is too loud. The only clue is when the car doesn't move any faster and I realize I'm bouncing off the redline. I need to fix the shift light thingy.
