Now emission related OBD2 is what it is and it's not that we couldn't do it, it's just highly illegal. Reflashing an tampering with your OEM EPA approved ECU tune is also illegal but nobody seems to care  So for the NA guys who run the Hydra, your OEM ecu is still bolted in and you just swap the plugs, no big deal. For the boosted guys I would say most will already have a reflashed ecu prior to getting a Hydra. I may even offer a service that will be minor or no fee if you buy a Hydra where I'll flash your OEM ecu to pass. I just think many would like an non-tampered with EMS. |
In California, I have 6 years before I need to have my car tested. I will either have the car swapped back to stock, or have sold the car by then, so for as long as I plan to play with my car I don't have to worry about testing.
