StuGg Racing Nexus 7 Tablet Mount Review

In my possession I have the Over A/C Tablet Mount and thePassenger Dash Tablet Mount. Please note these reviews will be fairly similarin most parts since they are from the same manufacturer.
Over A/C Tablet Mount:
Build Quality: 9/10
Overall Design: 9/10
Fitment: 10/10
Durability: 9/10
Positioning: 7/10
Overall Rating: 10/10
Build Quality:
The build quality is very good, the only complaint I have isthat the black paint chips off of the case portion revealing a blue color.Apparently this was a batch mistake though and it was actually supposed to besolid black material. So this shouldn’t be an issue with future orders. The mount itself is covered in a felt/carpetmaterial preventing any scratches to your dash pieces.
Overall Design:
The design was definitely well thought out, it fits reallynice in between the two silver trim pieces. It is held in place by VERY strongmagnets. You have to install two of the magnets inside the silver trim piecesyourself and make a bit of cutting. None of the cutting is noticeable when thepieces are re-installed. When the tablet mount is removed the pieces appearcompletely stock with no modifications. Trust me when I say the magnets arestrong. I’ve been thoroughly testing these mounts for about two weeks, and eventhe most aggressive driving couldn’t get the mount to come out of place. Thecase that holds the tablet is a very tight fit as well and is actually trickyto remove the tablet afterwards.
Fitment:
The fitment of the mount is perfect. No issues whatsoever, I don’t have much else I can sayon the subject because it is what it is.
Durability:
The durability of the mount seems very good, my guess isthat it would last the life of your car. The only problematic area is that theTablet Case is held on with double sided tape and maybe over time it wouldbreak free. Although the double sided tape used seems to be of a very highquality and should actually hold. I’m very impressed with the quality of thesemounts.
Positioning:
Location, Location, Location. Overall the tablet beingmounted over the A/C knobs is a pretty good location. If you’re the type tofiddle with the HVAC controls often, this may not be the mount of your choice.Although you can simply pull back on the mount to dislodge it from the magnetsin the trim and make an adjustment fairly easy. Visibility is overall prettygood, but it is tad low to look at, so depending on what your desired use forthe tablet is, you might want something a little closer to eye level. It isn’t too distracting to look down at itwhile driving in my opinion.
Overall Rating:
I’m honestly really impressed with the mount and it isdefinitely worth every penny if you plan on using your tablet as a GPS or forthe Torque App. The mount exceeded my expectations.

The instructionscome with instructions where to place the magnets, but you can actuallyposition them to your personal preference. When the tablet mount is removed thepieces appear completely stock with no modifications. Following the mountinginstructions, I do find the tablet is a little distant to reach over and touchthe controls, but I’m also fairly short. Trust me when I say the magnets arestrong. I’ve been thoroughly testing these mounts for about two weeks, and eventhe most aggressive driving couldn’t get the mount to come out of place. Themagnets are so strong that when removing the mount, sometimes the dash piecepulls out of place a bit and has to be snapped back in place (which takes 1second) The case that holds the tablet is a very tight fit as well and isactually tricky to remove the tablet afterwards.

I actually really enjoy having the tablet mount over on thepassenger side dash, it’s still very easy to see, close to eye level and out ofthe way of any controls. Depending on your use for the tablet, this might beyour preferred choice. The mount is angled so that the tablet is facing you.
