It's also a skill level thing. While the TT's Haldex based AWD is not an advanced AWD system, it's still AWD which is inherently easier to drive faster. Trying to do the same thing (with a comparable W:P ratio) is going to more difficult in a RWD layout. It comes down to the driver, IMO.
