I'm actually in the same group as you guys, the mirror was vibrating while driving and actually started to rattle. I ended up replacing the two black screws that actually appeared to be slightly stripped. Hopefully this fixes the issue otherwise I'll be drilling and tapping the mounting plate as well.

Subaru has a new part number for the updated adapter plate. This fixes all vibration or loose fit issues.
