I have been using DS2500 in my current car as a dd and for trackdays without issue; admittedly my current car only weighs 1080 kgs with me in the car. I am assuming the pads in the FRS/86 have a larger surface area so can cope with the extra 200kgs. This remains to be seen. I wouldn't be suprised if i do have to upgrade but then increased disc wear may be an issue.

Yes, compromise indeed. The OP did say track-only and barely street legal, which makes mixed-use pads like the DS2500 too street-biased for his application. For your application [DD + occasional HPDE], something like the DS2500 is a good compromise if there's no intent on swapping pads.
