The part that makes me apprehensive with parents doing this is the fact that 17 year old kids don't need 300+ hp cars the day they get their license. I know the stupid stuff I did when I was that age with a 100hp car and don't want to share the road with new drivers in cars with power they probably don't respect. I know there are exceptions for every rule, but for the most part you can't argue that 17 year old guys aren't somewhat irresponsible and inexperienced behind the wheel.
^^ DING DING. My thoughts exactly. I did some pretty dumb (fun) stuff in a 1986 Plymouth Voyager with wood panels, a 370Z would have killed me.
