I have put about 12000 km on the kit so far and no battery degradation at all yet.
These batteries are pretty fool proof and cheap so if I have to replace them for 80 bucks after 2 or 3 years I wouldn't be too upset.
The longest installed kit is on a vw with over 40,000 km and it is still holding up to Canadian summer and winter cycles.
