The design is sound. It is commonly referred to as a 4-2-1 design. Two cylinders opposite in the cycle are merged so there is minimal interference from their pulses. The other pair does the same thing and then the two are merged together instead of all 4 dumping into the same collector. With the nice long runners it should do better than the stock header, which is limited in length by the space taken up by the cat. That is pretty much everything I know about headers so don't look to me to elaborate.
