At 10k miles I took the car in for maintenance and when I hopped in and started the car... 1st gear was missing. I went in and they claimed it wasn't their fault... but obviously i drove the damn thing into the shop and they didn't even say anything about the transmission after the service. They replaced the entire transmission this time under warranty, and then I immediately traded it in for a Mustang. Drove it for 100k on the STOCK clutch and no transmission problems. Now I traded in the stang for a BRZ, have these issues with the fuel pump, and it takes me 2 weeks of battling it out with services to get the damn thing fixed.

As much as I love Subaru, many of their service departments are HORRIBLE, at least in Houston. I plan on keeping this BRZ until the new WRX/STi comes out and then swapping it out, but this has been making me think twice... I love the cars, hate the service. Also... how does it take a company (suby/toyo) 3 times to get a fuel pump right? You'd think they would have had it right the first time, but they didn't even get it the 2nd time. Its not like it's just a freak occurrence in a few cars, it's happening to almost all of them, I've seen polls on forums that show around 90% of BRZ/FR-S owners having this issue.

Good luck with the warranty, I would try to get refunded for your current one and take the 7/100. It will at least help a few hundred if you go to sell it.
I would suggest talking to the guys in your local forum. Ask around and try to find a good dealership to take it to. I found the right dealership before I made my purchase so I wouldn't have these issues.
