Yeah I agree with you. I was being a bit sarcastic and fun. The fact that he has no credit score and they gave him that APR, well, it makes a lot of sense.
What I would suggest he does, if he can muster up the patience. Wait a year, and use your credit card to pay bills and use other's bills for your credit card. For example, if you have cell phone and health insurance monthly, use your credit card. If your mom or dad also has to pay the same type of bills have them use your credit card that way you can build a credit score faster by making more use of it and paying the bills in full at the end of each month.
Hopefully that makes sense, in the effort to build a credit score.
